Other Reading GroupsBooks and Cooks Ithaca -- The reading group that Lyn founded in 1998 that spawned BCDC and Books and Cooks West.Books and Cooks West. Bay Area Book Group -- A dozen women in the Bay Area; their group has been meeting since 1988. Mostly, We Eat -- Running since 1993, this group has gotten attention from the NYT and Oprah's Book Club. Quill and Swill -- Great name. They've been meeting for about 10 years. The Reading Group -- They have a more interesting name, but I'm not sure how public they make it *grin*. Anyway, this group's been going for 7 years now, and recently put up a website (with pictures!). They sort the books they've read by author, date and category and sometimes provide short comments describing what they thought of their reading selections. SF3 Book of the Month Circle -- Going since 1974! They discuss science fiction, primarily hard science fiction as opposed to fantasy. Tertulia -- Going strong since October 1993 |
